Mercury in Pisces: your mind works through images, impressions and intuition
Mercury is the mind: how you think, learn and talk.
Your mind works through images, impressions and intuition. You know things without knowing how. Feeling is your first language. Analytical people do not get to decide that what you know is not real.
Pisces is water, mutable and ruled by Jupiter
The element sets the temperament: fire acts, earth builds, air connects, water feels. The modality sets the motion: cardinal starts, fixed holds, mutable adapts. The ruler is the planet that carries the sign’s agenda.
Your Mercury may be in Pisces in one zodiac and not the other
The tropical zodiac is tied to the seasons; the sidereal zodiac to the stars. They have drifted about 24 degrees apart, almost a whole sign. So a planet in the first two-thirds of tropical Aries usually sits in sidereal Pisces, and a tropical Pisces Mercury is often sidereal Aquarius.
Neither is wrong. The tropical chart describes how you meet the world; the sidereal chart is the sky as it actually stood. We read both, plus True Sky and the draconic chart, and make sense of all four as one picture.

Is my Mercury in Pisces sidereal or tropical?
It depends on the degree. The zodiacs are about 24° apart, so a late-Pisces tropical Mercury is usually sidereal Pisces too, while an early one is sidereal Aquarius. Your chart settles it.
