The birth card for August 8 is the Five of Diamonds
Diamonds is the suit of money and values, so your deepest lessons arrive through what you earn, spend and value, including what you believe you are worth.
As a Five, you need change, movement and the new, and tend to leave just before something deepens. The card dares you to stay with something long enough to find out what it gives you.
At work you do best with variety, travel or a role that keeps changing, because routine makes you restless quickly.
In love you need freedom and new experience, and a partner who never knows whether you are staying stops settling in too.
The Sun is in Leo, or Cancer in the sidereal zodiac
The tropical zodiac follows the seasons; the sidereal zodiac follows the constellations, which have drifted about 24 degrees since the two were aligned. So on August 8 the Sun is in Leo by one reckoning and Cancer by the other.
Sun in Leo: You need to be seen for who you are, not admired but seen. Self-expression is not vanity for you; it is how you stay alive. The line it turns on is whether you are being yourself or performing yourself.
Sun in Cancer: Your identity is shaped by feeling: what moves you, who needs you, what you would protect. That emotional intelligence is real. Used consciously, it is care. Unconsciously, it becomes armour.
Around the change of sign, the exact day shifts by year. Your chart settles it.
The Sun is in Gate 7, The Role of the Self
In Human Design and Gene Keys, the Sun on August 8 is in Gate 7: your Personality Sun, and the key at the centre of your Life’s Work. The role and the way we organize and lead collectives.
As Gene Key 7, it runs from the Shadow of Division, through the Gift of Guidance, to the Siddhi of Virtue.
Gates change every five or six days, so near the edges your Sun may sit in the gate next door. Your chart shows the line too.
Your birthday number is 8: the Executive
The birthday number is a specific talent carried in the day you arrived: the day of the month, 8.
8, The Executive: Power in the material world. Eight is not greed; it is mastery of resources, money and authority, and the balance between ambition and integrity.
You are here to handle money, power and large responsibility well. The work is running things without needing to run the people too.
