The birth card for May 9 is the Ten of Diamonds
Diamonds is the suit of money and values, so your deepest lessons arrive through what you earn, spend and value, including what you believe you are worth.
As a Ten, you aim high and work hard, and can lose sight of the life the goal was meant to serve. The card dares you to receive what you have built and make room for the people you built it for.
At work you do best with a large goal and the freedom to reach it your own way.
In love you need a partner who supports your goals, and they need to see you arrive for them as fully as for the work.
The Sun is in Taurus, or Aries in the sidereal zodiac
The tropical zodiac follows the seasons; the sidereal zodiac follows the constellations, which have drifted about 24 degrees since the two were aligned. So on May 9 the Sun is in Taurus by one reckoning and Aries by the other.
Sun in Taurus: Your identity rests on what is real: what you can touch, hold and prove. That is your strength, and it can become your trap when you keep holding what is solid after it has stopped being true.
Sun in Aries: Your identity is built through action. You come alive when you move first, and playing it safe leaves you flat. Boldness is not the risk. The risk is mistaking motion for meaning.
Around the change of sign, the exact day shifts by year. Your chart settles it.
The Sun is in Gate 2, The Receptive
In Human Design and Gene Keys, the Sun on May 9 is in Gate 2: your Personality Sun, and the key at the centre of your Life’s Work. Direction and the capacity to receive guidance from inner knowing.
As Gene Key 2, it runs from the Shadow of Dislocation, through the Gift of Orientation, to the Siddhi of Unity.
Gates change every five or six days, so near the edges your Sun may sit in the gate next door. Your chart shows the line too.
Your birthday number is 9: the Completer
The birthday number is a specific talent carried in the day you arrived: the day of the month, 9.
9, The Completer: The end of the cycle. Nine is compassion widened past the personal: release, forgiveness, and the harvest of everything the cycle taught.
You are here to care about the wider world and give generously. The work is letting things end, and giving without waiting to be thanked.
