The traditions · Cardology

Your birthday comes with a playing card. And a calendar.

Cardology gives every birthday a card from an ordinary deck of 52, and reads it for your character, your relationships and your timing.

Soul Cartography shows your birth card, the cards around it, and the periods of your year.

Because the periods carry dates, this is the part of your map you can most easily check against your own calendar.

Free Birth Card Calculator: Your birth month and day. The year is not used. Free, no account needed.

What it calculates

  • Your birth card and planetary ruling card
  • Your life and spiritual spreads (the layouts your card sits in)
  • Your karma cards
  • Current planetary periods and their dates
  • Yearly cards and longer cycles

What it brings to your Manual

Cardology brings dates. When a reading says a stretch is turning, you can check it against your own life. Its themes make it into your Manual where the other maps agree.

  • WEALTH & SELF-WORTH: What the tradition says about worth, money and what you can hold on to.
  • CAREER & INDIVIDUALITY: Your birth card's themes of effort, responsibility and direction.
  • FAMILY & COMMUNITY: The people the tradition reads as familiar before you meet them.

Your birth card is a fact, not an interpretation.

Your date of birth corresponds to one card. Nothing about that step is interpretive. It is a fixed position in a fixed spread.

The reading then introduces that card's traditional themes, and how they change with position.

A dated period is something you can test.

Open a dated period and consider its themes alongside your own calendar. You might look back at a year you remember well, or use the current period as a prompt for reflection.

Include what does not fit as well as what does. A symbolic reading leaves room for your life to be more complicated.

Some people show up holding a card that matters to yours.

Cardology also describes the relationships between cards. Some people arrive carrying a lesson for you before you know their name.

The tradition gives you a way to recognise them, and a question to ask: what is this relationship asking me to learn?
