The Shadow, Dishonour. When something hurts, you either push it down and keep smiling, or it leaks out at the worst moment. You snap at someone who did not deserve it, then carry the shame for days. Either way the feeling is never properly heard. The people close to you sense the weather and never hear the forecast.
The Gift, Graciousness. When you let the hard feeling be there and listen to it as you would listen to a friend, it moves through instead of staying stuck. Then you can listen to others that way too. That’s Graciousness: room for what is difficult, yours and theirs.
The Siddhi, Grace: a grace that lets every hurt pass through you, so even suffering is met openly and turns into love.
