The birth card for May 11 is the Eight of Diamonds
Diamonds is the suit of money and values, so your deepest lessons arrive through what you earn, spend and value, including what you believe you are worth.
As a Eight, you have the strength and focus to get things done, and a habit of carrying all of it yourself. The card dares you to use your strength to help others and to look after your own health.
At work you do best in charge of something that matters, with real results to show and someone permitted to tell you to stop.
In love you are loyal and protective, and you need a partner with their own strength, or they end up managed rather than met.
The Sun is in Taurus, or Aries in the sidereal zodiac
The tropical zodiac follows the seasons; the sidereal zodiac follows the constellations, which have drifted about 24 degrees since the two were aligned. So on May 11 the Sun is in Taurus by one reckoning and Aries by the other.
Sun in Taurus: Your identity rests on what is real: what you can touch, hold and prove. That is your strength, and it can become your trap when you keep holding what is solid after it has stopped being true.
Sun in Aries: Your identity is built through action. You come alive when you move first, and playing it safe leaves you flat. Boldness is not the risk. The risk is mistaking motion for meaning.
Around the change of sign, the exact day shifts by year. Your chart settles it.
The Sun is in Gate 23, Assimilation
In Human Design and Gene Keys, the Sun on May 11 is in Gate 23: your Personality Sun, and the key at the centre of your Life’s Work. Assimilation and the capacity to integrate diverse influences.
As Gene Key 23, it runs from the Shadow of Complexity, through the Gift of Simplicity, to the Siddhi of Quintessence.
Gates change every five or six days, so near the edges your Sun may sit in the gate next door. Your chart shows the line too.
Your birthday number is 11: the Illuminator
The birthday number is a specific talent carried in the day you arrived: the day of the month, 11.
11, The Illuminator: The higher octave of two. Eleven is strong intuition that can inspire others, carried by a nervous system sensitive enough to match.
You are here to sense what others miss and put it into words that move people. Your nervous system needs calm, so protecting your rest is part of the work.
