Kua 7’s four best directions start with North-west
Each kua number has four favourable directions and four unfavourable ones. Face a good direction when you work, sleep with your head toward one, and keep the worst one out of the places you spend the most time.

|---|---|---|
| North-west | Sheng Chi | success and wealth |
| South-west | Tien Yi | health |
| North-east | Nien Yen | love and relationships |
| West | Fu Wei | personal growth and steadiness |
| North | Ho Hai | mishaps and setbacks |
| South | Wu Kwei | the five ghosts: quarrels and loss |
| South-east | Liu Sha | the six killings: scandal and illness |
| East | Chueh Ming | total loss, the worst direction |
Kua 7 is in the West group
East group numbers are 1, 3, 4 and 9; West group numbers are 2, 6, 7 and 8. The four best directions of one group are the four worst of the other, which is why two people from different groups often want different seats, desks and sides of the bed.
The other West group numbers: 2, 6 and 8.
Use it where you spend the most hours
At a desk, face North-west (success) or West (steadiness). In bed, point the top of your head toward South-west (health) or North-east (relationships).
Avoid sitting or sleeping toward East, the direction of total loss, and South-east, the six killings. When the room won’t allow it, the second-best direction is still a good one.
Kua 7 birth years, 1930 to 2030
The kua number comes from the feng shui year, which starts at Li Chun, around February 4. If you were born in January or early February, use the year before.
The traditional formula has a male and a female version, which is why the same year gives two different numbers.
