What is my kua number, and what are my best directions?
Your kua number is a personal feng shui number from 1 to 9. There is no kua 5; it is reassigned. It comes from your birth year and, traditionally, whether you were born male or female. The number places you in the East group, kua 1, 3, 4 and 9, or the West group, kua 2, 6, 7 and 8. Each kua has four favourable directions and four unfavourable ones, and each direction has its own work.

The fuller answer
One number, eight directions, and a practical answer to which way your bed should face.
The favourable four are your success direction, for career and getting things done; your health direction; your relationships direction; and your direction for growth and calm. The unfavourable four range from mildly unhelpful to genuinely draining. Using the good directions for what you do every day, sleeping, working and eating, quietly shifts the odds in your favour. In practice, most people notice something.
Feng shui counts the year from early February, not from January.
Feng shui uses the solar new year, which falls in early February, not the first of January.
If you were born in January or the first days of February, your kua number is calculated from the previous year.
This is where many online calculators go wrong.
It matters, because a single year can place you in the wrong group entirely.
And then you sleep facing your hardest direction, with complete confidence.
Each of your good directions has a particular job.
Face your success direction when you work, negotiate or need to finish something.
Sleep with your head toward your health direction, or face it when you eat.
Your relationships direction supports harmony at home and in love.
Your growth direction supports calm, study and clear thinking.
You will not always be able to use the ideal one. Any of your four good directions is better than any of your four difficult ones.
Most of the benefit comes from leaving your worst direction, not from perfection.
Real homes have windows in the wrong places and beds that fit only one way.
Feng shui has workarounds: facing a good direction when you cannot sleep in one, changing seats at a table, choosing which side of a room to work from.
These are adjustments, not renovations.
Perfection is not the aim.
Moving your daily places away from your weakest directions is most of the gain.

A look inside
Sample report · a fictional reader
Your kua number is 3, which places you in the East group. Since you moved in, you have been working while facing your hardest direction.
Your four best directions
Your success direction is south. Your health direction is north. Your relationships direction is south-east. Your direction for calm and clear thinking is east. At present, you are using one of them. Not through poor choices. Through where the furniture happened to land. This is common, and it is easily changed.
The direction to avoid
Your most difficult direction is west, and your desk faces it. That is where you spend most of your working day, tired by late morning and distracted by early afternoon. Not everything about your workday is the desk. But you face your least supportive direction for most of your waking hours.
What to change first
Turn the desk to face south. If that is impossible, east is your second choice and still a real improvement. Then look at the bed, with your head to the north if the room allows. Give it three weeks, and change nothing else while you test it. A short note each morning will tell you more than memory will.
How Soul Cartography reads it
Kua numbers are usually delivered as a compass and little else. Your report is practical: which direction for which part of your day, in order of what matters most, with solutions for the rooms you actually have.
It is written with the rest of you in mind, so the guidance fits the way you live, work and rest.
Then it is written for you, in a real voice, not from a template. No sun-sign paragraphs. No definitions you could find on the first page of a search. Every line has to be true for your chart and nobody else's.
The method is not published, the same way a good doctor does not hand you the textbook. What can be said is this: every system is one lens on you, and none of them is read alone. Where they line up, the report says so. Where they pull apart, it says that too, because that is often the part you recognise first.
Questions people ask
Do I need my birth time for my kua number?
No. Your kua number comes from your birth year and date, so no clock is needed. Your full date does matter: if you were born in January or early February, the year you count from may not be the year on your birth certificate.
Why does it ask whether I was born male or female?
The traditional kua formula differs for men and women. If that question does not fit you, say so, and your report will show both sets of directions and help you find which feels right in practice.
Is this just astrology?
No. Astrology is one voice in the room. It is not the whole room. Soul Cartography reads you through several systems at once: astrology in more than one zodiac, Human Design, Gene Keys, Cardology, numerology and more. Each one sees you from a different angle. On its own, any one of them can be general enough to fit almost anyone. Read together, something changes. When systems that have nothing to do with each other point at the same pattern, it stops being a horoscope. It becomes a description of you. Where they line up, that is worth noticing. Where they disagree, the report says so, because that tension is usually the most recognisable part of a person. Neither is thrown away. How the systems are weighed and combined stays ours. What you receive is the picture they make together.
How do I get my report?
By email, as a private link, within 24 hours. It is yours to keep. One purchase, no subscription. Most people come back to it later, often right after the thing it describes happens again.
