Astrology vs Human Design
The short answer: Both start from the positions of the planets at your birth. Astrology reads them by sign, house and aspect, as a symbolic language for character, relationships and change. Human Design converts those positions, and a second set from about three months before birth, into gates on a bodygraph about how you make decisions and use your energy. Same raw ingredients, completely different recipe.

Common questions
Is Human Design a kind of astrology?
It uses planetary positions, as astrology does, but reads them as gates on a bodygraph rather than through signs and houses. Human Design presents itself as a system of its own.
Why does Human Design use a second date?
Its chart includes a Design calculation for the moment the Sun was 88° earlier than at birth, some three months before. A natal chart in astrology uses the birth moment only.
Do I need an exact birth time for both?
It helps both. In astrology it sets the rising sign and the houses; in Human Design it can change the Moon’s gate and the lines. Enter the most reliable time you have.
Does Soul Cartography combine them?
Your Incarnation Manual reads each in its own language and tells you which tradition every line comes from. Where we connect the two, that’s our reading, and we say so.
