Sun in Sagittarius: Sidereal and Tropical
The Sun is identity: what you are building yourself around. In Sagittarius, you feel most alive when you are moving toward meaning: a vision, a truth, a horizon. Sagittarius is a fire sign, mutable, ruled by Jupiter. A sidereal Sun in Sagittarius is often a tropical Sun in Capricorn.

Sun in Sagittarius: you feel most alive when you are moving toward meaning: a vision, a truth, a horizon
The Sun is identity: what you are building yourself around.
You feel most alive when you are moving toward meaning: a vision, a truth, a horizon. The restlessness is not a flaw. The question is whether you are moving toward something or away from staying.
Sagittarius is fire, mutable and ruled by Jupiter
The element sets the temperament: fire acts, earth builds, air connects, water feels. The modality sets the motion: cardinal starts, fixed holds, mutable adapts. The ruler is the planet that carries the sign’s agenda.
Your Sun may be in Sagittarius in one zodiac and not the other
The tropical zodiac is tied to the seasons; the sidereal zodiac to the stars. They have drifted about 24 degrees apart, almost a whole sign. So a planet in the first two-thirds of tropical Capricorn usually sits in sidereal Sagittarius, and a tropical Sagittarius Sun is often sidereal Scorpio.
Neither is wrong. The tropical chart describes how you meet the world; the sidereal chart is the sky as it actually stood. We read both, plus True Sky and the draconic chart, and make sense of all four as one picture.

It depends on the degree. The zodiacs are about 24° apart, so a late-Sagittarius tropical Sun is usually sidereal Sagittarius too, while an early one is sidereal Scorpio. Your chart settles it.
