Mercury in Scorpio: Sidereal and Tropical
Mercury is the mind: how you think, learn and talk. In Scorpio, your mind goes where others will not. Scorpio is a water sign, fixed, ruled by Mars. A sidereal Mercury in Scorpio is often a tropical Mercury in Sagittarius.

Mercury in Scorpio: your mind goes where others will not
Mercury is the mind: how you think, learn and talk.
Your mind goes where others will not. You read between the lines and sense what is unsaid, and surface answers do not satisfy you. That depth is a gift. It is not a reason to interrogate people who are not ready.
Scorpio is water, fixed and ruled by Mars
The element sets the temperament: fire acts, earth builds, air connects, water feels. The modality sets the motion: cardinal starts, fixed holds, mutable adapts. The ruler is the planet that carries the sign’s agenda.
Your Mercury may be in Scorpio in one zodiac and not the other
The tropical zodiac is tied to the seasons; the sidereal zodiac to the stars. They have drifted about 24 degrees apart, almost a whole sign. So a planet in the first two-thirds of tropical Sagittarius usually sits in sidereal Scorpio, and a tropical Scorpio Mercury is often sidereal Libra.
Neither is wrong. The tropical chart describes how you meet the world; the sidereal chart is the sky as it actually stood. We read both, plus True Sky and the draconic chart, and make sense of all four as one picture.

Is my Mercury in Scorpio sidereal or tropical?
It depends on the degree. The zodiacs are about 24° apart, so a late-Scorpio tropical Mercury is usually sidereal Scorpio too, while an early one is sidereal Libra. Your chart settles it.
